To demonstrate the importance of microscopic beings in ocean waters. The lack of knowledge about plankton, the neglected environmental impacts and the difficulty of carrying out environmental education in schools, generate a limitation in awareness about the need to protect these ecosystems, and without a proper understanding it becomes difficult to mobilize and take the necessary action to mitigate them, in addition to inaccessibility, which leads to low engagement of new generations about plankton. The role of these creatures is crucial, as they are the base of the marine food chain and play a vital role in producing oxygen and absorbing carbon dioxide, directly affecting the health of the oceans and consequently the global climate balance. Ensuring a sustainable future for the next generations is urgent.
The solution proposed by Invisible Ocean focuses on educating and engaging children and teenagers about the importance of plankton, using a practical and interactive approach that raises interest in the relationship and care of the ocean.
Activities will include microscopy, identification of organisms, collection and analysis of samples, interactive exhibitions, lectures and presentations, as well as participatory monitoring. The funds will be used to buy materials and supplies, publicize the project, transport and feed the team and assemble kits for the students.
